What's the difference between a greenhouse and a potting shed?

A greenhouse is typically constructed with a transparent material, often glass or plastic, which is held together by a steel or wooden frame. The transparent design amplifies sunlight and raises the internal temperature, creating a favorable environment for plants that would otherwise struggle to survive. In contrast, a potting shed can be built from timber, metal, or plastic, similar to traditional garden sheds. However, potting sheds also feature a large transparent window (usually at the front) to regulate the temperature. As a combination of a shed and a greenhouse, a potting shed serves as a perfect sanctuary for both plants and their owners who have a green thumb.
